Golfer Looks Forward To A Bright Future

John Wells

A Beverley golfer has a bright future, thanks to substantial sponsorship from Bright Finance.

Golfer John Wells, 28, funds his playing schedule by working and teaching at Beverley and East Riding Golf Club. Over the coming months John will be competing in a string of high profile golf tournaments attracting up and coming professionals from across the United Kingdom and Europe.

In exchange for the sponsorship from Bright Finance, John will sport the company’s logo on his clothing and golf bag. The most exciting for John and Bright Finance is the prestigious televised European Tour event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May.

The sponsorship will cover some of John's expenses for competing not only in the UK but also across Europe in the PGA Euro Pro tour events, scheduled to be shown on Sky Sports.

"I am delighted to be associated with the Bright Finance"

He said: "The money will really help me. I lose out when I'm competing, because I can't get any income from coaching while I am at tournaments."

"The Bright Finance sponsorship will pay outright for five competitions. Normally, I would have to fund the travel costs, accommodation costs and finance the entry fees myself for each event."

"I am delighted to be associated with the Bright Finance brand and thank Chief Executive Mark Cooke and Chairman Paul Hancock for all of their support."

Mark said: "It is a pleasure to sponsor John at this level, we wish him the very best of luck and will follow his progress throughout the competitions."

John started playing golf at just nine-years-old and turned professional in 2000. John's 2006 schedule will include the BMW event, at least ten Euro Pro Tour events, several north region PGA tour events and the British Club Professionals Championship.
